Baduy tribes in Kanekes Village, Leuwidamar, Banten, have lived in strong customary rules. This rule covers all activities, behavior, and items used. Likewise with clothes that are attached to the Baduy community. These traditional clothes or clothes have become a characteristic of the community because of their simple colors and designs. Black and white are the dominant colors in traditional Baduy clothes.

Traditional Baduy clothes are made with materials obtained from the surrounding environment. this is easy because the mountains that are rich in natural products have become the abode of the Baduy people for many years.

The process starts from planting cotton seeds to harvest. Next, the process of spinning cotton into a thread. cotton which has become a thread is then woven by Baduy women to become material. This material will later be made into traditional clothes and used daily for activities.

Clothing for men Baduy tribe is called jamang sangsang. this shirt with long sleeves by means of use is only doubted or only attached to the body. The design of a holey pajamas on the neck to the chest and not using collars, buttons and pockets.

This traditional dress is dominated by white and should not be sewn using a sewing machine. The white color on clothes is interpreted by their holy lives and not affected by external culture. This color is only reserved for the Inner Baduy Tribe. in contrast to the Outer Baduy community, they use black or dark blue kampret clothes. The custom of the Outer Baduy community has also been influenced by outside culture, seen from the bags and buttons used in designing clothes.

on the bottom or pants, the Baduy tribe only uses a blue-black cloth wrapped around the waist. These pants are tied with a piece of cloth that serves as a belt. While at the top, the headband is used as a cover. This headband is distinguished by white and dark blue. For white, it is intended for the Inner Baduy tribe, while the dark blue patterned batik becomes the head tie used by the Outer Baduy Tribe.

Generally Baduy Tribe both outside and inside always carry bedog or machete in their daily life. other accessories in addition to the traditional Baduy clothing, namely bags made of bark of terep tree. The bag called koja or jarog is an integral part of the Baduy Tribe. because this bag serves as a place to store the equipment needed by the tribe that inhabits the Banten region.

For Baduy women, their traditional clothes are only in the form of cloth or some kind of blackish-blue sarong. This fabric is a kebaya with a batik motif that is worn from heel to chest. The most striking difference is seen if these clothes are worn by women who are married and not yet. if the married one looks open on the chest while for unmarried women the chest will be closed.
