This tribe is closely related to their cousin, the Naulu tribe, which occupies the southern region of Seram Island.

Since the past, their traditional house called Baileo has become one of the most prominent things of life in Huaulu settlement. in fact, to establish a Baileo house, the Huaulu Tribe used to hold ceremonies with various rituals in them. supposedly, in this ritual a Baileo must use a human skull which is the enemies of the dead Huaulu tribe as the main foundation of the pillars in the entire building. However, as time went on, this ritual was replaced with a coconut shell on each pole.

Actually Baileo the main customs house that became a gathering place for the whole village. In the past, Baileo also commonly used as the home of the King or the village chief and also a place of worship. they used to hold meetings regarding people's lives or even talk about war strategies against their enemies. But in modern life, the Baileo function is like a Village Hall. Residents of Huaulu village used to hold village meetings and various traditional ceremonies at Baileo. baileo is not a resident's house, but from the general form of Baileo, we will also get a picture of the traditional house of the Huaulu Tribe.

In general, Baileo is shaped like a stage house. Baileo has many support poles which are usually decorated with carvings which show that Baileo is a special home compared to other houses. climb a ladder measuring about 1.5 meters and we will enter the main room of Baileo which is a gathering place for all the villagers. This place is quite large and open without any window or door dividers. very long seats around the inside of the building and can be used for various things such as sitting, meeting, even large meals together. In one corner of Baileo, there is one room that is usually used as a privacy room in the form of a bedroom. unique, this bedroom is not just functioned as a place to rest like a modern home. The Huaulu tribe also uses this room for cooking and other household activities.

This general form is also imitated by the residence of other residents. in general, the house of the Huaulu Tribe consists of only two parts. One part that is open and social in nature and the other part is more closed to all kinds of private family activities. Huaulu's house is very friendly with nature because it is formed from natural materials such as wood, bamboo, and thatched roofs.
